Three SGA senators resigned their positions Wednesday, a day after the SGA Election Steering Committee voted against allowing sophomore Marque Snow to run for SGA President.
Jordan Feist, Isaiah Howard and Matt Laidlaw all announced their resignations in e-mails sent to fellow senators and The Volante.
Howard was running for re-election this week, but Feist and Laidlaw were not seeking another term.
"This decision that the ESC (Election Steering Committee) made reminds me of Cuba, China, North Korea and Iran all mixed into one," Feist wrote. "Why don't you just tell us who the senators will be next year too?"
Snow found out Monday that he would not be able to run for SGA president because his running mate, senior Cody Banta, was unqualified to run.
ESC Chairman Chris Barondeau and SGA Advisor Genevieve Evans Taylor told Snow that he could not run without a running mate or choose a replacement this close to the election.

Seriously, does anybody really care about the SGA except for the members and the Volante. Honestly, student's lives wouldn't be that much different, if any, if it didn't even exist. (Continued…)

I'm really getting tired of reading about the SGA. The general student population doesn't care about it. The only people that care about it are the members and the Volante. (Continued…)

SGA is a complete and total joke, but without it what else could the Volante cover? More underages and tattoos?

Good decision senators. Way to stand up for what you believe in. SGA should be scrapped and we should start anew next year. BTW for those of you who know me. (Continued…)

As a former SGA Senator, I concur with the notion that SGA is worthless. Do you know what we do at the meetings? We take trivial issues and debate them to death for an hour, usually without resolution. (Continued…)

It is really sad to hear comments like that of Ron Mexico. Because the SGA should make a difference, and it should be noticeable. There are SGA's at other colleges and organizations in other states that work beautiful so maybe that something they should stick on their agenda for next year. (Continued…)
